Bouncer regulation needed

first_imgThe death of 30-year-old Jerry Karamesinis, who died at the hands of a bouncer, has sparked the coroner to call on tougher regulations on bouncers and crowd control. Coroner Jennifer Coate recommended to an inquest into the death of Karamesinis that all new security staff to be put on probation and undergo drug and alcohol testing if violence does break out. Karamesinis died from head injuries that he sustained after being hit by a bouncer outside a Frankston club in May 2007. The lawyer representing Karamesinis’ widow told the court that this has exposed bigger problems in the security industry. In the past ten years, 35 people have died in or around Victorian nightclubs due to the security industry. Facebook Twitter: @NeosKosmos Instagramlast_img
