A Prince Tribute Mural Got A Surprise Flower-Crown On Easter, And It Was Glorious

first_imgOn April 21st, 2016, the legendary Prince left this planet, marking the loss of one of the greatest music icons in the last century. Following his death, fans around the world found unique ways to pay tribute to the mythic figure, including Sacramento, California-based artist Christine Stein. For almost two years now, Stein has had a commemorative mural of Prince in her front yard. However, on Easter Sunday, Stein got a big surprise when the bush behind the mural began flowering, giving her Prince mural a beautiful flower-laced crown.Stein told KCRA 3, a local news station, that she didn’t even know that the bush behind the mural could flower, explaining, “Somebody mistakenly dropped 16 yards of mulch in front of my Prince mural. It brought nutrients into all the plants in my yard, and then the bush started growing and growing. Then, just on Easter, it bloomed with all these flowers I’d never seen before.” She continued, “My husband pointed out to me, ‘There’s flowers on your tree,’ and I’m like, ‘I didn’t know it could flower.’”You can check out photos of Stein’s mural before and after it bloomed below!
