Aston Martin RapidE set to become a production model

first_imgThe RapidE is a concept electric vehicle developed by Aston Martin and Williams Advanced Engineering. Aston Martin has also signed a pact with Chinese technology group LeEco to develop technology for connecting the cars.The production model of the Aston Martin RapidE is set to arrive in 2018 and it is slated to be a high performance EV with luxury and eco-friendliness also a part of the mix. The RapidE was born out of Aston Martin’s will to create a zero emission sports car and the car is based on Aston Martin’s own Rapide S.The agreement between Aston Martin and LeEco can be extended to work upon a range of next-generation electric vehicles.Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer said in a statement, “Aston Martin is dedicated to developing a range of cars with low-emission technologies. We have been encouraged by the project speed and technical depth shown by LETV in the development of the RapidE concept towards full production.”An electric sports car is definitely a requirement of the future and it is good to know that more and more car manufacturers are getting involved in making them.last_img
